"My goal is for Englewood to have excellent schools. Thriving students, proud residents and a destination for families."

I love living in Englewood. We are made up of multiple beautiful communities in a city that is breathtakingly beautiful. The sky is the limit for how great our public schools can be. I have been privileged to serve on the board of education for the past year. The achievements I am most proud of from this past year include setting measurable academic standards, promoting the dual language program, increasing the music & arts education, and increasing community engagement at meetings and in the budget process. There is still so much work to do. I believe that if we focus on student success and double down on the things we are great at, we can see our academics improve by leaps and bounds. I am ready to continue giving my time, energy and expertise to work with my fellow board members and our committed school administration to earn your vote & help our students and city thrive.

"My wife and I moved here with the intention of making this town our forever home."

I am passionate and invested in improving the quality of our schools, as well as the entire Englewood community. You also may have seen my son, Lucas, presenting to the board advocating for the Dual Language Program this past June. My wife and I moved here with the intention of making this town our forever home. My running mates Rachel & Allison share my vision of improving our schools by putting the Kids First in every decision the board of education makes. We want to bridge the gap between the board meetings and our community with transparency, accountability and follow through from the concerns that we as parents have. It’s time to make some changes and we are ready to be a part of that transition. Thank you for taking the time to learn about me. Feel free to reach out if you have questions or say hi anytime you see me around town!

Your Vote Shapes Local Education

HERE'S HOW

Local elections decide who sits on the Englewood board of education. The board decides how funds are spent and what policies will shape our public schools. Your vote is the clearest way to make sure that students, families, and residents have a seat at the table alongside the administrators and unions.

WHY IT MATTERS

It matters because each and every one of us in Englewood is a stakeholder in our public schools. Our schools:

  • shape the education of our public school students;
  • impact whether a family or our own children will choose to raise and educate their children in Englewood;
  • impact whether a family will move out of Englewood for a different public school district;
  • account for approximately half of our property tax bills; and
  • are a big factor in determining the property value of our home.

The board of education makes decisions that affect students every day – from funding teacher salaries and after-school programs to setting curriculum and school safety policies.

HOW YOUR VOTE CAN CREATE CHANGE

Board members are your representatives in the education system. The superintendent oversees the teachers and administrators who are each represented by unions. Together we entrust them with our children and they manage the day-to-day operations of the school district. So who represents the interests of student families and residents in the operation of our public schools? That’s where your vote matters — it ensures there’s a voice in the system advocating for your community’s needs.

IN ADDITION TO VOTING, WE ENCOURAGE YOU TO

  • Attend school board meetings to stay informed.
  • Join the PTO or attend school events.
  • Talk to your neighbors and encourage them to vote.

We promise to put KIDS FIRST in every decision we make on the board of education. We intend to earn your vote and your trust with decisions that prioritize academic excellence and responsible spending to turn Englewood public schools into a place our kids and community will thrive.

Sincerely,

Rachel Haber, Randy Laratte & Allison Ross
